He departed Halifax 14 Nov 1916 on SS Olympic \u2013 the sister ship to Titanic. Arrived in UK 20 Nov 1916 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was briefly promoted to Corporal at Shoreham Camp then went back to Private before they went to France at end of Dec 1916. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They were in trainining for front line duty until 6 Feb 17 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He joined 54th Bn in the field on 9 Feb 16 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He got wounded by shrapnel on 8 July 1917 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Was in various medical treatment locations until 8 Dec 17 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Early in 1918 he was accidently scalded on the right leg where he had got hit with shrapnel<\/p>\n\n\n\n
